Matthew 6:9-13 - Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

The Lord's Prayer is a model of how we should pray. It begins by acknowledging God as our Father in heaven and declaring His name as holy. We then pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Next, we ask for our daily bread, both physical and spiritual sustenance. We also seek forgiveness for our sins, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us. Finally, we ask for strength to resist temptation and deliverance from evil.

The Lord's Prayer teaches us the importance of humility and sincerity in our prayers. We are not to pray to be seen by others or to use empty phrases, but to pray in private and with genuine hearts. The prayer also emphasizes the need for forgiveness and the interconnectedness of our relationship with God and others. We cannot expect God to forgive us if we are unwilling to forgive those who have hurt us. It reminds us of the power and love of our heavenly Father, who knows our needs even before we ask Him.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the example of the Lord's Prayer. Help us to approach you with humility and sincerity in our prayers. Teach us to seek your kingdom and your will above all else. Provide for our daily needs and help us to forgive others as you have forgiven us. Strengthen us to resist temptation and protect us from evil. We trust in your wisdom and love, knowing that you hear our prayers and will answer according to your perfect will. In Jesus' name, amen.
