Romans 3:5-8 - For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 3:5-8 reminds us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Even though none of us are truly righteous, God showed His love for us by sending His Son to die on the cross. No one would willingly die for a wicked person, yet Christ died for us while we were still enslaved to sin. His death demonstrates the depth of God's love and mercy towards humanity.

It is humbling to think that the all-powerful, perfect God of the universe would send His Son to die for sinful people like us. We have all fallen short of God's glory through our sin, yet Christ paid the price for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God. His sacrifice on the cross was the ultimate act of love. Though sin separates us from God, His grace is greater than all our sins. When we feel condemned or unworthy because of our past, we can take comfort knowing that God sees us as righteous through faith in Jesus. His death covers all our sins and makes a way for us to have peace with God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great love shown to us through the death of Your Son, Jesus. We are undeserving of such mercy and grace, yet You freely offer it to all who believe. Help us to never take Your gift of salvation for granted. May we live each day striving to honor You with our lives. Draw us closer to You through Your Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
