Revelation 1:1-3 - The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

In Revelation 1:1-3, John receives a revelation from Jesus Christ about events that will soon take place. John testifies that this revelation comes directly from Jesus and is trustworthy. There is a blessing promised for those who read, hear, and take to heart the words in this prophecy, because the time of fulfillment is near. As Christians, we can trust that God's word in Revelation will come to pass just as He has said.

This passage reminds me that God graciously reveals His plans to us through His word. Even though parts of Revelation seem confusing or frightening, I know it expresses God's truth. Just as John was blessed for receiving and sharing this revelation from Jesus, I want to approach God's word with an open heart. I don't want to avoid the hard teachings, but prayerfully study Scripture and let it transform my life. Especially in uncertain times, I'm thankful I can trust God's faithfulness and find hope in His promises.

Lord Jesus, thank You for giving us Your word and making Your plans known to us. Give me wisdom and discernment as I study Revelation. Help me approach Your word with humility, patience, and faith. I want to receive Your revelation not just as interesting information, but as life-changing truth. Open my heart to hear what You want to say to me today. Amen.
